Name: Nature Legacy Protected Areas/aire protégée du Patrimoine naturel
Display Field: NAME
Type: Feature Layer
Geometry Type: esriGeometryPolygon
Description: The data contains polygons that have been OKed to be granted legal protection. this data identifies what properties these features intersect and what county they lie within. This layer was derived from attributes with the status “candidate” in the SDEOWNER.Proposed_Pathway_Areas feature class.
Copyright Text: Data is created by the Pathway Project team as sites are moved to the legal setup stage of the project.
Description: Description - The Commitments data should be used in conjunction with the Holder layer. It indicates areas under tenure (leases, easements, licences, permits etc). It also indicates areas under application for various land uses; these applications may become tenures in the future if the reviews are favourable. The polygons shown in the layer are directly linked to Crown Lands Branch business software; updates in the software will result in updates to attributes and status in the GIS.Creation – layer is based on applications for land use and some polygons are based on inaccurate maps provided by the client. The polygons are updated as more accurate information is obtained (Field staff reports, GPS points, surveys etc.)Codes – The attributes in the GIS come from the Land Use Management System (LUMS) software. Here are the descriptions of the most important attributes; the other attributes are mainly related to the location such as County, District etc.App_StatusStatus of the applicationRR_StatusResource Status – This is the overall status of the file, it indicates if it is active, inactive, under review etc. This is the attribute that most users base the layer’s symbology on.Tenure_StatusStatus of the TenureAgree1, 2 & 33 attributes combine to indicate the agreement (ie, lease, easement, right of way etc.) An example of the three attributes is Lease, Commercial, Outfitting. LUC 1, 2 & 33 attributes combine to indicate the land use, for example Recreational, Campsite, WaterfrontFile_NumIndicates DNR’s central file number associated with the polygon in the GIS.CampsiteThis attribute is solely for DNR’s campsites throughout the province. It simply indicates if a campsite is Available, Unavailable, or currently being applied for. This attribute assists in locating available campsites for people in a specific area.
