A 50 m grid of airborne radiometric uranium-to-potassium (U/K) ratios for New Brunswick.
This dataset represents the spatial distribution of uranium-to-potassium (U/K) ratios across New Brunswick at 50 m resolution, derived from a compilation of NRCan airborne radiometric surveys originally flown at 1000 m line spacing (base compilation) and supplemented with higher-resolution surveys flown at 300 m line spacing or less. The U/K ratio highlights areas where uranium and potassium abundances differ, providing insights into lithological variations and alteration patterns. The dataset is provided in NB Stereographic double (NAD83) for consistent province-wide coverage.
The U/K ratio grid was produced by dividing the compiled uranium (U) raster by the compiled potassium (K) raster at each 50 m cell. Individual NRCan radiometric surveys were microlevelled and interpolated to produce seamless 50 m grids before calculation. The final ratio raster was projected to NB Stereographic double (NAD83) and delivered as individual grid.
The dataset is not updated regularly. Updates occur only if new reprocessing, corrections, or additional surveys become available. As of now, the compilation represents the most recent processing as of December 2025.
