Description: The dataset consists of trench data captured from archived mineral assessment reports of work (1950’s to present), mining lease documents, and other sources. Trench locations were digitized using one the following methods, depending on the type and quality of source information: hardcopy (paper) maps at multiple scales, on-screen georeferenced map images, or GPS coordinates. The dataset was created in 2018, and it is continuously updated as reports are submitted to the Department and subsequently made public. The accuracy of trench locations may be limited for several reasons; for example, inaccurate locations on the source map or poor quality reproduction of the original location maps. Users should verify trench locations by checking the original source.Contact information:Cyndie PitreDepartment of Natural Resources and Energy Developmentcyndie.pitre@gnb.caTel: (506)547-2070Distribution: UnclassifiedRetention: indefinitely
