Description: Boundaries for closed areas in which rockweed harvesting is not permitted. Boundaries are listed in the Fisheries and Oceans Canada Annual licence issued to Acadian Seaplants Limited. This is also true with respect to the Concession Licence between the company and the Province of New Brunswick. The coordinates (latitudes and longitudes) for all of the Exclusion Areas(EAs), Long Term Reference Areas (LTRAs), Study Sites, and Special Rockweed Management Areas(SRMAs) are listed annually in the licence that Fisheries and Oceans Canada issues to the company. The coordinates that identify each and every one of the subsector corners in each of sectors 3,4,5,6,7,8,9, and 10 are not necessarily written out in the DFO annual licence. There is no biometric information on the quantities of rockweed in any of the sub-sectors, EAs, LTRAs,Study Sites, and SRMAs . Rockweed biomass quantities have always been designated Commercially Confidential. Unlike the Forest Development Survey maps from the 1980’s and 1990’s for forest stands on Crown Lands, the aforementioned 1:20,000 map sheets that show areas below the mean High Water mark do not show any biomass data.Created using a combination of coordinates (from annual license conditions), and archived PDF maps, as well as some shapefiles converted from CARIS.
